Granted, there will most likely be obstacles that block your straight path but the point is that you can still do the same thing that you could do with a mini-map but without being able to avoid those obstacles. That's fucking stupid.Īnd the compass is not only worse but defeats the purpose of eliminating the mini-map because all you have to do is put the point of interest that appears on it that you want to go to in the center of the compass and just walk/run/drive straight and you'll get to it like in every game that has a compass. Now, im going to miss a bunch of stuff that's in the game that I should be able to do but can't because if I don't explore a certain inch of the world, I won't trigger it and thus, can't do it.
As for there not being a mini-map, I fucking hate that decision. I just think that the towers should have been minimized to one per region/district. I can understand not having the radio towers but im still disappointed by it. For the first time in four games, I don't see Far Cry 5 getting a 9/10 or higher from me because of the changes they made. I became a Ubisoft fan starting with Splinter Cell Conviction and then Far Cry 3.
